Marisa is passionate about the beauty and effectiveness found in the history, theory, and application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She uses the holistic approaches within this evidence-based system including acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, tui na, qi gong, and dietary therapy to provide personalized preventative and restorative health care. She is certified in Clean Needle Technique (CNT) by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is highly qualified to deliver this safe and effective method of stimulating the body’s healing processes.

 

Marisa completed her Doctorate at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, to further her education and understanding of Integrative medicine and practice. 

 

Marisa graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine where she earned her Master’s Degree.  She also graduated from New York Chiropractic College where she earned an additional Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition, with Honors.  The graduate program for the Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a part of the New York Chiropractic College and is a 3,000-plus hour program that includes extensive clinical experiences.

To further enhance her understanding of Chinese Medicine, Marisa traveled abroad to study at the Zhejiang Hospital in Hangzhou, China where she participated in rotations focusing on pain, oncology, and gynecology. There, she learned advanced, contemporary techniques, gained insight into the latest acupuncture theories, and observed a functioning model of the integration of Western and Eastern medicine. 

 

She has experience working with a wide range of individuals including athletes, geriatrics, veterans, and community members of all ages. Marisa believes in working with patients to give them comfort, hope, and empowerment by using TCM to discover and treat the root of their symptoms. Her goal is to go above and beyond to help patients achieve the quality of life that they desire.
